Fellbeast, TLotR: Gollum

Another creature I had the pleasure of contributing to during the production of TLotR: Gollum. I worked on multiple stages of the creature from initial concept, through blockout and highpoly to textured asset. Along the way the design went through a couple of iterations. Rider and straps are placeholders and were created by other artists. The renders/images represent the work I did, the creature was later worked on by others. Many thanks to the team for their direction/feedback and support, in particular Mathias Fischer (Art Lead) and Diana Varro (Characters/Creatures), as well as Tilman and Damiri in regards to the writing/lore aspect.

An early concept with a more snake/basilisk like look. This design was discarded, as it didn't align with the description.

More early concepts. I used techniques like analogue and digital sketches, blockouts/sculpts and overpaints to iterate and narrow down the design.
